Historically, bpost has been using SAP BPC V7.5 MS in the domain of segment reporting, next to other areas such as, management reporting, financial consolidation, budgeting and forecasting and account ownership reporting. bpost contacted element61 to propose and realize some improvements towards specific areas identified as bottlenecks against changes in reporting requirements.

SGG Group’s objective was to implement their statutory consolidation process within a standard consolidation tool that could support SGG Group’s external, reporting requirements. These external requirements include annual statutory consolidation reporting in accordance with Luxembourg GAAP, plus quarterly obligations for convent reporting to SGG Group’s creditors. In addition to the external reporting requirements, SGG Group required that the consolidation process could be performed on a monthly basis to support internal management reporting of actuals, flash reporting and to further promote the monthly oversight of the above mentioned external reporting requirements. To support these reporting requirements, SGG Group implemented SAP BPC version 10.0 for Microsoft SQL Server.
